2 moons? Part II

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 28, 2008

Aha…it’s 28th August morning and if there were 2 moons last night, we would have seen it. Even if you missed it, you would probably see the picture on the front page of your newspaper this morning. I mean…we’re talking about 2 moons here! It’s spectacular!

So…SUNshine went out to have a good look at the sky last night. Unfortunately, it was raining quite heavily last night and the clouds were heavy. So, not only she didn’t see 2 moons, she didn’t even see 1 moon! Haha…

Oh well…so was there 1 moon or were there 2 moons but the sky wasn’t clear enough for that to be visible?

Let’s reveal the truth….*drumroll*

Haha…actually 2 days back, SUNshine googled about this phenomenon and found some articles. :)

Apparently, this is a HOAX that has been circulating since 2003. Apparently, every year around this time of the year, people talk about seeing 2 moons! Haha…I wonder who started this email! Should give him an award for the ability to create excitement and curiosity! But hmm…in a bad way. Haha…

SUNshine found many websites talking about it, confirming it is a hoax. Some are so scientific, with all the astronomic explanations and calculations, I don’t quite understand it completely. Hehe… Go check out some of them on Yahoo!Answers and Urban Legends.

Aaawww….so mankind doesn’t get to see this spectacular display afterall…

SUNshine in pain :(

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 27, 2008

Ouch!

Aiseh…our dear little miss SUNshine is in pain :(

First, there was the pain on her left scapula. Then lo behold, last night, she slipped and knocked her knee in the kitchen. The floor was wet. :( The left knee actually looked flatter than the other knee. :(

Think she must have kena her left hip too, somehow because she woke up with pain in her left hip this morning. Ouch!

Then, she had to drive back to hospital to rush her research project. Lo and behold, the records were kept right up, above the the cabinet. So, she had to climb on a chair to climb on the cabinet to reach the top of another cabinet. Sounds pretty straight-forward, but kinda scary when your left hip is too painful to support and you can’t rest on your left knee.

But all went well. :) She gave her best shot and after 5 gruelling hours, she managed to finish the job! :) Well done! :)

Then she’s able to come back to KL and don’t need to spend another day at the hospital. Hehe…

Now she really gotta rest her body well to prepare to Emerge! :)

And oooo….she has a new hairdo! :)

To know or not to know?

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 26, 2008

Fear comes from not knowing. When you don’t know what’s ahead, you’re scared. When you don’t know something well or someone well, you’re afraid.

But I realised there’s something scarier than not knowing. That is finding out that you didn’t know, but you thought you did.

So, it’s probably true that, “the more you know, the more you don’t know”. It’s not pleasant.

It’s scary to finally find out how blind you were, how foolish you were, and how wrong you were.

So, which is better? To live in ignorance and live happily ever after? Or to find out and to freak out with how foolish you were?

The more I find out about the past, the scarier it became. I wonder it’s better to find out, or not to find out.

Which is more frightening? To know or not to know?

2 moons?

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 25, 2008

Hhmm…I got this information in my email.

On the 27th August, planet Mars will be as bright and large as the Moon. Therefore, it will look as if there’s 2 moons! And the next time this happens is in 2287!

True or false? 2 more days and SUNshine will go and find out for herself! :)

Maybe you should too! Hehe..stay tuned for more updates! :)

Headache!

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 25, 2008

SUNshine has headache now.

She has so many things to do and figure out and so little time! All to be settled by this week! Aduh…

Perhaps I should pray more, work harder, sleep less, watch less drama.

SUNshine is crossing her fingers that things will work out and ON TIME. Aduh…headache!

Aiseh…perhaps being very particular, getting things done early and etc is a good thing. Aiseh…But then again, gotta do that without that tinge of “kiasu-ism”. What a fine line…

SUNshine really wish that life is a lot simplier. Is it a natural progress in life as we grow up or am I making life complicated? Aduh…

But I’m sure tomorrow will be a better day! Can’t wait for tomorrow morning’s appointment! :) That will make me sleep with a smile and wake up early! Hehe….

Blood and water

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 22, 2008

It’s day 4 post-op and SUNshine was awaken to escort her mom to the market. Yawns…

SUNshine did a bit of thinking today (again!). Isn’t it great if we lead simple lives? SUNshine’s life has been so dramatic lately. Sometimes when we’re bored with life, we wish things are more dramatic, we wish we get more attention.

But after her afternoon nap today and she was “attacked” by that “feeling” again, she wish that life is a lot simplier. Somehow, the past is not that easy to forget. Or probably, we are the ones that chose not to forget perhaps?

Can we lead a simple life, yet, it is impactful? Yet it makes a difference?

SUNshine has a few days more to make all the decisions and then face the music. Hhmm….ain’t easy eh?

While being on duty as a “guard” to a very uncompliant “patient” who can’t seem to sit still, SUNshine has work to do, has decisions to make and a sanctuary to rest in.

Whatever it is, SUNshine has experienced something very true: blood is always thicker than water.

Home sweet home

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 21, 2008

Ahh…SUNshine is finally back! :) Haven’t been back home for the past 2 days. Was on-call for 60 hours…yup…special VIP patient: my mom.

I’ve just been in the room with her the whole time. Watching TV, helping her get around, making sure the nurses are doing the right thing (although they don’t do much except to monitor her vitals), answering calls (super a lot of calls!), smile at visitors and make sure my mom is eating the right stuff!

Thanks heaps to all the visitors for your concern and generous gifts. :) Beautiful :)

Beautiful eh? :) But we had a hard time carrying everything out! Heavy sia!

Anyways, Mom is recovering pretty alright. Just that she’ll need 6 weeks of rest, and hopefully her body gets back in function ASAP. :)

Now SUNshine gotta make sure there’s food at home, the house is cleaned, the clothes and dishes are washed, etc, etc, etc. And on top of that, she needs to plan for the new Sem, not forget Emerge is coming up and find time to go back to Seremban to get some research done. Phew!

But I had a little thinking going on these few days while being in the same room. :P

Thanks heaps to those that were concern for my mom. Thanks for the phone calls, the gifts, the SMSes, the visitations, the offers and yes..even a massage treat! :) Oh yes…even blood!

Sigh…SUNshine dreads going back to work, but also time with nothing to do. I had a short little time to rest today and I was shocked “that feeling” came back! Gosh! Will it ever go? :(

Oooo….for some weird reasons on 18 Aug, my blog stats show that there were close to 70 people viewing my blog! :) What happened?! :) Keep reading on ya! :)

Money talks

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 19, 2008

Stretch….capek banget dhe! SUNshine just came back from taking care of a very important patient…her mom!

Oh man…money really talks in healthcare! The private hospital SUNshine’s mom is staying in right now is superb! Great quality! But great price too! The moment we were at the admission counter, we said goodbye to RM 5000! But I love the way services are given there! 5 star! Made me think about the patients back in the hospital I’m at currently. Sigh….one word: pathetic!

Thank God the operation went well. :) I love the consultant that did it. She even let us see the specimen that was taken out! :)

Can you guess what that is? Let me give you a clue: I stayed in there for 9 months. So did my sisters. :)

Do continue to pray that she’ll recover well, with no complications and she won’t feel pain. She’s complaining of pain now. :(

After that, my sis and I went to Ayam Penyet for dinner. Waliao…prices went up again! :( Mahal dhe…

And then 1 young boy approached our table, trying to sell kacang putih (some Indian snacks). We gave him a smile and said no. My immediate reaction was this:

Me: Waliao! This boy again! He should be in school! Why is he selling things like this? I saw him doing this few months back too!

Sis: Maybe he’s in school, but he needs to do this to help his family.

Me: Ya hor… *feels bad for jumping into conclusion again*

Sis: Let’s call him back, get something and talked to him to see what’s going on.

*Waves at the boy to come back*

Sis: How much do you sell 1 packet for?

Boy: RM2 each pack. Buy 5 packets la…RM10 only.

Me: How old are you? *while Sis digs through the basket, choosing her favourite*

Boy: 13 years old

Me: Do you go to school?

Boy: Yes. SMK XYZ

Me: Who makes the kacang putih?

Boy: My mother. I help her to sell.

Sis: How many siblings do you have?

Boy: 16

Me and Sis: 16?????!!!!!!

Boy: Yes *smiles*

We then chose more packets and paid him. We weren’t too bothered if the snacks are nice, but just wanted him to earn some money. :( He smiled, thanked us and walked off to continue selling. We wanted to ask if he had dinner and if he wanted to join us, but he walked so quickly, we couldn’t call him back.

Ah..this is a picture of the 3 precious packets of kacang putih we bought. Sniff!

SUNshine learnt today that money is really important. It gives us good quality in life, proper treatment and comfort in life. But of course, it’s not everything. Money can’t buy everything either. But it is important. So, work hard! :) But don’t cling only to it either, missing out on other areas of your life.

Money does talk sometimes, doesn’t it? :)

And yeah….please be insured! Get a good plan and invest in it! It’s essential!

17 August

Posted by sunshinedeb on August 18, 2008

Happy Birthday Indonesia! :)

Yup…beautiful country with beautiful people. I love anything Indonesian! From the food to the people to the culture… :) I think the best food in the world is Indonesian and the nicest and most caring people on earth are Indonesians! :)

Maybe my ancestors were Indonesians eh? Hehe…Don’t ask me why a true blue Malaysian that has never been to Indonesia is so in love with that country! I even think every anointed song is actually originally Indonesian..OK…too much already! Hehe…

It’s a nation with 17,508 islands! Can you imagine that?!

Somehow there’s something about SUNshine and Indonesia. I wonder what it is…I still can’t quite figure that out. Hehe…perhaps the answer lies in my future :) Will it be work? Ministry? Family? Or will it just be a directionless admiration of this nation?

Whatever it is…Selamat Hari Merdeka Indonesia :) You produce some of the sweetest people on earth! :)
