There are a few issues I’ve been thinking about today, because several things happened.
Unfortunately, today is the most discouraging day since I moved to Seremban. I guess the disappointment is even greater when you know there’s an element of truth behind it.
First is an issue of trust. There’s a choir of voices that target my mind now! So many voices of opinions! Who do you listen to? Even your mind and emotions are battling it out.
As I was reflecting which voice to listen to, I realise my mind would pick the voice that I TRUST. It really tests the element of trust this time.
Then there’s also the issue of hope. Sigh…I don’t feel very hopeful now because of the discouragement. But thank God for His Word. It truly is alive and sharp enough to pierce through my heart! 
Ya know…many times we hear people say this, or maybe we ourselves often have this mindset: “Don’t hope too much, then you won’t be that disappointed when things don’t work out”. Sounds familiar? But the Bible tells us something totally opposite!
Romans 5:3-5
“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
WOW! First of all, it takes someone of character to hope! I feel it extremely strong now because I feel discouraged. To keep going on and believe that things will turn out well, it takes character! No wonder God is more interested in our character than comfort.
Secondly, hope does not disappoint! Where else do we hear this? Nowhere! Haha… But how? Because of the love of God. Because of His great love, He has given us so many Promises. We shall be the head and not the tail. He has a great future that will prosper us and not harm us. That all things work together for those who love Him. We hope when we believe these promises are real in our lives. And we can only trust God this much and keep holding on when the love of God in our lives is so strong that it consumes us! That is how hope is able not to disappoint
Amazing eh? Hope is such an important element because when we lose hope, we lose everything! Now I just need to keep hoping, keep working hard, keep believing! It ain’t easy but if I want a way out, I guess this is the ONLY option I have. I’m not about to quit now! I’m living out my destiny now!
And it’s so true when the Bible says “Without vision, people perish”. Because the only encouragement I have that keeps driving me now is the vision that I believe is from God in my life. That is the only indication NOT to quit! I’ll get there…someday
So remember…when you lose hope, you lose everything!
